Shōga Neko Matcha is a high-end, first harvest, ceremonial grade Japanese matcha green tea harvested in Mie, Japan.

Ceremonial grade matcha is traditionally used in the Japanese tea ceremony and is grown under shade during the last few weeks before harvest. This increases the production of chlorophyll and amino acids, particularly L-theanine, giving it a naturally smoother and sweeter taste. Additionally, the L-theanine in matcha promotes relaxation and mental focus by counteracting the stimulating effects of caffeine, providing smooth and sustained energy without causing drastic energy crashes and tachycardia.

To keep your matcha fresh and with its optimal properties, once you receive the package, store it in the refrigerator and keep it in its original packaging or in a sealed container where light does not enter.

Steps for your matcha ceremony:

1. Sift 1 tsp (2g) of matcha into your chawan (matcha bowl)

2. Add 2oz of warm water (160*F)

3. Beat with your chasen (bamboo whisk) using zig-zag movements until lumps are eliminated and foam is created.

4. Add matcha to your favorite recipe, pause and delight
